Who knew we'd get to this, holding hands in the rain
each drop once felt so significant, now it's just dull pain
as the water rises the pressure builds and we look in our eyes
and I feel at peace despite the ceaseless storm, feeling sad as it's gone by
You've been such a good friend, and my biggest failing
I've felt the range of laughter to sigh
Watching you go through it all
I don't remotely envy you
You've been by my side despite the good and the true
Whenever we'd not know what to do
But one of us always had a thing to say
Another goal, an idea, a play
and here we are, in the midst of it all
its a short time, we've got to say
and here we are, holding on for what's left
it's a short time, to when we'll float away
Lightning hits, an imminent hint that this is going to be a bit free of me and my half of us.

Take My Leave
It comes to pass that I should leave
And not expecting your bereave
Along with feelings, sanity
Will take a pleasant leave
I depart with hope, and hope in mind
Leaving no more hope behind
That you’d known humanity
And ever were you kind
None earn from you the trust you hold
And never gave, but only sold
Watch as your profanity
Turns your heart to cold
And not expecting your bereave
Along with feelings, sanity
Will take a pleasant leave
I depart with hope, and hope in mind
Leaving no more hope behind
That you’d known humanity
And ever were you kind
None earn from you the trust you hold
And never gave, but only sold
Watch as your profanity
Turns your heart to cold
